Soft Furnishings Cleaning Tips
Act immediately, working from the outer edge to the centre.
Do not use general household or detergent products as they can set the stain, causing it to become permanent. They can also leave a sticky residue, which will cause re-soiling in addition to causing possible colour loss.
Remove solids with the back of a clean knife.
Blot liquid spills quickly with a clean white absorbent cloth.
Do not add water to ink stains.
Note, some fabrics and leather are not suitable for stain removal with water.
We recommend to contact us for advice or pre-test an inconspicuous area first.
Dab with a little cold water, gently blotting up excess liquid.
Do not rub, as this can cause irretrievable pile distortion.
Rotate upholstery cushions where possible.
Hard Surfaces Cleaning Tips
Act immediately with acidic spillages, i.e., red wine and fruit juice as they can erode protective floor finishes.
Manufacturers and retailers recommend professional cleaning every 12 to 18 months.
Shaw Clean in addition to manufacturers and retailers recommend neutral floor products to maintain and clean hard floors.
Be aware and check your own vacuum cleaner, as the base of some models can scratch hard floors.
For sealed surfaces any detergent based products will wear through the sealer in time also attracting soiling to grout lines, hence neutral cleaning products are only recommended.
